The creative process

Here's a little insight into the creation process of my latest illustration....
First, is the drawn picture, some background colour and a little colour added to the main design.

Next step is to add a bit of shading and to continue the colour, with a little bit of shading to the picture.

Now I concentrate on all the shading, so detail like the holly leaves and wellie boots are standing out from the page.

And finally, it's the little bits like the fluffy fur on the clothing, lettering and snowflakes to do!

What to do on a hot summer day....

So, it's beautiful weather here, we are on the beach everyday for a couple of hours after school, and I am painting Christmas designs!! Yep, it's not the most inspiring weather for it, but I have to make a living!!

Snowtime!

Snow is so unusual for the Sussex coast! But we had a few inches... which of course shut schools, closed roads and created chaos! But, I have to say it was lovely to get into the swing of Christmas images with the snow around, quite different from when I am designing in the middle of July!
